At the age of 13 he moved to the United States with his family. During his time in New Jersey he graduated from<strong>\u00a0Lawrenceville<\/strong>\u00a0High School in 1995.<\/p>\n<p>He went on to earn his bachelor\u2019s and master\u2019s degrees in computer science and finally graduated from\u00a0<strong>MIT<\/strong>\u00a0in 2000.<\/p>\n<div class=\"is-divider divider clearfix\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"is-divider divider clearfix\"><\/div>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"beginnings_of_his_career\"><\/span><strong>Beginnings of his career<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Charlie has been interested in\u00a0<strong>computers since<\/strong>\u00a0he was a teenager. He managed to work for large companies in the sector such as\u00a0<strong>Kana Communications<\/strong>\u00a0occupying the position of Software Engineer until 2007. In the same year he got a position at<strong>\u00a0Google<\/strong>\u00a0working on projects such as YouTube Mobile, writing code for Chrome OS or Google Guidewire.<\/p>\n<p>By\u00a0<strong>2011<\/strong>\u00a0Charlie was already familiar with\u00a0<strong>Bitcoin<\/strong>\u00a0and was quite interested in the cryptocurrency. After studying it he focused his attention on\u00a0<strong>developing<\/strong>\u00a0a form of investment that relies more on the Blockchain and less on traditional financial methods.<\/p>\n<p>His idea was created from the\u00a0<strong>functioning of Bitcoin<\/strong>\u00a0and several experiments with its technology. For the development of this cryptocurrency, Lee relied on a project known as\u00a0<strong>Fairbrix<\/strong>\u00a0using large portions of the\u00a0<strong>source code.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Although Fairbix\u2019s cryptocurrency was a failure due to errors in its mining leading to a\u00a0<strong>51%<\/strong>\u00a0attack, Lee adopted its\u00a0<strong>Proof of Work (PoW)<\/strong>\u00a0protocol to launch Litecoin to the world.<\/p>\n<p>LTC (Litecoin) was adopted as\u00a0<strong>the silver of cryptocurrencies<\/strong>\u00a0by the platform users. Charlie left his job at Google in\u00a0<strong>2013<\/strong>\u00a0to focus on Litecoin, as he was previously only able to spend his free time writing cryptocurrency technology.<\/p>\n<p>Litecoin was created from\u00a0<strong>Bitcoin<\/strong>\u00a0technology and code with some changes that Charlie improved in the cryptocurrency.
