His passion for research has led him to publish a lot of research material he developed in the field of smart contracts, blockchain and bitcoin. One of his most famous contributions\u00a0<strong>is the article on Bit Gold and his conception of smart contracts.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"bit_gold\"><\/span><span data-text-color=\"primary\"><b>Bit Gold<\/b><\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>In 1998, Szabo designed a mechanism for a decentralized digital currency that he called \u201cBit Gold\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Bit Gold, which was seen as the \u201c<strong>direct precursor to the Bitcoin architecture<\/strong>\u201d and upon which Satoshi Nakamoto developed his work, was never implemented.<\/p>\n<p>In the Bit Gold structure, a participant uses computer power to solve cryptographic puzzles. The solved puzzles are sent to the public registry and assigned to the solver\u2019s public key.<\/p>\n<p>Each solution would become part of the next challenge, creating a growing chain of new properties. It is the first example of a digital currency that laid the foundation for the Bitcoin architecture.<\/p>\n<p>According to evidence from some sources, and specifically those on the\u00a0Gizmodo\u00a0blog, Szabo and Satoshi contacted the same group of people for advice on their respective cryptocurrency proj<\/p>\n<p>Szabo also changed the date of a blog post, asking for advice on how to launch Bit Gold, to make it appear as if it was written after Satoshi published his first article on bitcoin in 2008.<\/p>\n<p>In this publication Szabo explains that the essence of Bit Gold is based on the idea that \u201ca group of miners set up their computers to solve computationally intensive mathematical puzzles, and then publish the solutions to these puzzles in secure public records\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>In fact,\u00a0<strong>the text was originally published on April 9, 2008<\/strong>, several months\u00a0<strong>before the publication of the Bitcoin whitepaper<\/strong>\u00a0published by Nakamoto. Suddenly, another date appeared (December 27).<\/p>\n<p>How did it come to be known? Well, because the original date was not edited in the url of the entry, which is still dated April.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"writing_style\"><\/span><span data-text-color=\"primary\">Writing style<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>According to the same Gizmodo report,\u00a0<strong>Satoshi and Szabo have a very similar writing style<\/strong>. If we compare Szabo\u2019s blog and Satoshi\u2019s first document on bitcoin, it is easy to find many similarities, so much so that research was conducted at Aston University in Birmingham to determine possible candidates for Satoshi\u2019s true identity.<\/p>\n<p>The investigation ended with a report concluding\u00a0<strong>that Szabo\u2019s handwriting contains \u201cstriking parallels\u201d to Satoshi\u2019s<\/strong>, including similar handwriting gestures and phrases.<\/p>\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"similar_arguments_about_bitcoin\"><\/span><span data-text-color=\"primary\">Similar arguments about Bitcoin<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>On June 9, 2017, author\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/rextar4444.medium.com\/if-satoshi-nakamoto-and-nick-szabo-have-the-same-unique-argument-does-that-make-it-stronger-8299c32eb4d7\">Juice on his Medium blog<\/a>\u00a0highlighted other similarities between Szabo and Satoshi. According to Juice they both give almost identical arguments for why bitcoin should have value. Simple coincidence or not\u2026?<\/p>\n<div class=\"is-divider divider clearfix\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"is-divider divider clearfix\"><\/div>\n<p>Despite all the investigations into the Nakamoto case, to date, we still do not know who the real creator of Bitcoin is.<\/p>\n<p>Whether Nick is satoshi or not, what matters is the great contribution this scientist has made to the crypto community.
