This way nobody will be able to alter it and say that Real Madrid won when in fact they have won Betis, in order to modify the rewards.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"how_did_the_idea_come_about\"><\/span><b>How did the idea come about?<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>We have known for years\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bitnovo.com\/blog\/en\/what-is-blockchain-and-how-does-it-work\/\">blockchains<\/a>\u00a0that have always operated on their own, such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin or Ripple. This is not because they are selfish networks, but because there were not yet ways to connect these blockchains to real-world data (off-chain).<\/p>\n<p><b>This interoperability is what Chainlink<\/b>\u00a0brings to the crypto world, and its purpose is to connect the blockchain with external data to improve its operation.<\/p>\n<p>If you have read our article\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bitnovo.com\/blog\/en\/what-is-a-blockchain-oracle\/\">What is a blockchain oracle?<\/a>\u00a0you may already have a good idea of what I am talking about. Since these \u201coracles\u201d are the ones that provide the external information.<\/p>\n<p><b>Chainlink,<\/b>\u00a0in short,\u00a0<b>is a decentralized oracle network<\/b>\u00a0that solves the problem of interoperability by creating a secure and reliable solution.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"how_does_it_work\"><\/span><b>How does it work?<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>This decentralized oracle network is made up of\u00a0<b>buyers and data providers.<\/b>\u00a0Buyers demand data and suppliers offer it securely. When suppliers are finally selected, it is their job to bring the right answers up the chain.<\/p>\n<p>Chainlink uses an oracle services reputation system to aggregate and weight the data provided. If all goes well, suppliers are paid and all parties are satisfied.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"difference_between_link_and_chainlink\"><\/span><b>Difference between LINK and Chainlink<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>At this point (it may be late) but it is important to make a clarification: it is not the same Chainlink as LINK.\u00a0<b>Chainlink is the project<\/b>\u00a0created by the fintech company called SmartContract Chainlink Limited SEZC.\u00a0<b>LINK is the crypto-currency<\/b>\u00a0introduced by this same company for economic and transactional purposes.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"who_invented_chainlink\"><\/span><b>Who invented Chainlink?<\/b><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Chainlink was founded by current CEO\u00a0<b>Sergey Nazarov\u00a0<\/b>and current CTO\u00a0<b>Steve Ellis\u00a0<\/b>during 2017. For the launch it raised $32 million! in an Initial Currency Offering (ICO), which resulted in the creation of 1 billion LINK tokens.<\/p>\n<p>In November 2018, Chainlink acquired TownCrier, an authenticated data source for smart contracts (as we have learned oracles are defined).<\/p>\n<p>In May 2019, Chainlink launches on the Ethereum main network and experiences growth that makes it\u00a0<b>one of the crypts that increased its price the most during that year<\/b>.<b><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>Chainlink<\/b>\u00a0is a very interesting project that has demonstrated phenomenal progress and acceptance by the community.
