However, he stands out for his activity in the field of computation and cryptography. He played a very important role in formalizing\u00a0<strong>the concepts of algorithm and computation.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>His best known feat is the deciphering of the\u00a0<strong>Enigma machine<\/strong>\u00a0during World War II. This machine specialized in encrypting Nazi codes. All this was possible thanks to one of Alan Turing\u2019s creations, the<strong>\u00a0Bombe machine<\/strong>, specialized in deciphering\u00a0<strong>Enigma sequences.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It is estimated that he managed to shorten the war by two to four years. But this was not all, since after the end of the war Alan Turing managed to design one of the\u00a0<strong>first digital programmable computers<\/strong>\u00a0in the United Kingdom.<\/p>\n<p>Shortly after the end of the war he was prosecuted and imprisoned for homosexuality. Alan Turing ended up committing suicide years later. The first Turing machine was in charge of\u00a0<strong>manipulating symbols<\/strong>\u00a0on a tape according to a table of rules to determine whether or not a mathematical problem can be solved by a<b>\u00a0defined process.<\/b><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li aria-level=\"1\">Later, in 1936 Turing developed\u00a0<strong>the Universal Turing Machine<\/strong>. Like his previous version, its objective was to solve all mathematical problems that can be expressed by means of an\u00a0<strong>algorithm.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The only difference between the two machines is that the universal machine takes a step closer to the creation of a\u00a0<strong>computer<\/strong>. This is because the universal machine has the ability to carry out\u00a0<strong>multiple processes<\/strong>\u00a0and execute at the same time the function of any Turing machine.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to creating machines to solve encrypted problems, he created machines for those problems\u00a0<strong>that cannot be solved by Turing machines<\/strong>, i.e. encryption. This is called the concept of\u00a0<strong>hypercomputing.<\/strong>\u00a0Through this concept, machines called\u00a0<strong>Oracle<\/strong>\u00a0were created.
